🌿 100% Hand-picked Harvest • ~15 Seasonal workers • 1 Month of harvest

All our vineyard has always been harvested by hand. At the beginning of September, we call about fifteen seasonal workers to help us to harvest the grapes. The grape harvest of our different grapes varieties lasts about one month.

Nothing keeps us from harvesting the grapes with a machine (like 90% of the vineyards in France).

« BUT NOTHING CAN REPLACE A MAN'S EYES AND HANDS. »

Hands-picked grapes remains a principal aspect of the harvest for us. It allows us to pick over the grapes and choose only the ripe grapes.

Moreover, the grapes are handled carefully on their way to the wine storehouse. Therefore, grapes which are not ripe or have grey rot are not picked up. All this meticulous work is beneficial to the development of our wines in that it reduces the potential modification of the natural balance of the future wine.

Good to harvest or not ?

Each piece of land is regularly checked so as to decide when to pick up the grape.

Before each day of grape harvesting, we analyze:

  • Acidity of the juice
  • Probable alcohol content
  • Ripeness of the seeds
  • Risk of rot
  • Weather forecast
